Location: New York, New York, United States

I was born..no, wait, sorry, that's "David Copperfield". Anyway, I was born in Brooklyn, grew up on Long Island, went to school in upstate NY and came straight back to Manhattan to live. Never lived anywhere else. Never wanted to. Got a job as a rock journalist, in the course of which I met and married a rock star (yeah, yeah, conflict of interest, who cares). Became a priestess in a Celtic Pagan tradition, and (based on sheer longevity) one of the most senior Witches around. Began writing my Keltiad series. Wrote a memoir of my time with my beloved consort (Strange Days: My Life With and Without Jim Morrison). See Favorite Books below for a big announcement...The Rennie Stride Mysteries. Happy Beltane to All, And To All A Good Light!

La fheile Bealtinne sona dhibh! May the summer peace of the Goddess be with you this day and all days...

I don't really do Beltane so much, because it means Sumer is a-cumin in Lhude sing Godsdam...no more furs, no more hot chocolate, no lovely warm fuzzy flannel sheets and chenille sweaters and velvet shirts.

But I like to show respect to Herself, so I went out and bought Hyacinths to Feed the Soul, also hydrangeas, lilacs and ashes-of-roses parrot tulips. And Godiva raspberry chocolate bars. And lobster salad and two-bite cupcakes at Whole Foods. It all seemed somehow appropriate...

And not forgetting that Beltane 1970 was the last time I ever saw the Doors in concert, in Philadelphia...and a great show it was.

So there we are. Can't wait for Samhain!
